Whistle Stop Park

The kids and I visited my bestfriend, Katie, and her two kiddos, Liam (2.5yrs) and Olivia (2 mos) whom live 2 hrs. south of us. We went to a park that is next to an old train depot where there is an old locomotive that people can climb up in to pull the bell, see the old controls, etc. The kids had a blast doing that, having a picnic lunch (even though the wind kept blowing everything around), and playing at the playground. It's called Whistle Stop, b/c trains still go by daily. (If the slideshow doesn't open, you can click 'view all images' and it'll show it to you on photobucket).

They are getting so big already...

I can't believe that my babies are already 5 and 1. They are growing up so fast. Sometimes I just want to freeze time and other days I love watching them turn into curious little people. Connor is spelling out every word he sees and saying sight words. I remember when he could barely say 5 words and now he's starting to learn to read. He has such a sweet spirit and a great sense of humor. Some kids don't know how to joke, but I guess his dad has taught him well. He still has a hard time taking jokes though sometimes. I couldn't have asked for a better big brother for Eli. He just loves her so much and is a great helper. Connor is asking questions about everything possible these days and I am patiently waiting for him to grow out of the potty talk stage!!

Eliana went from standing on her own to full-on walking in a matter of weeks. She can now get from the front of the house to my bedroom (mainly my makeup drawer) in a matter of seconds. She says/shouts "ehh" when she wants your attention and points to things and says 'what's that?' She is getting quite the personality and has become fond of throwing tantrums when you take something away from her or she has to come inside from playing on the trampoline or swingset. She is such a sweetheart though 99% of the time. Her hair is even starting to grow in. She's tried eating both sand and potting soil in the last month and decided that she didn't like how either of those tasted!!

I am looking forward to seeing how they change over this next year.....
